Early recognition, early CPR, early defibrillation

'Making a difference to communities across Scotland' is a mission statement we use in promotion material and this is clearly a key objective of the charity. The community in Poolewe made that difference on the evening of Friday 8th January 2016 when a local resident suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest in the village hall. A trainee paramedic (also a Lucky2BHere ELS trainer), a local nurse and a retained firefighter stepped forward and did what they're trained to do. Equally important was the presence in the hall of a defibrillator provided via Lucky2BHere. Resultantly we now have a person in hospital who we sincerely wish a speedy recovery. Massive thanks to those involved in this situation and finally this goes to prove what can be achieved with early recognition, early CPR and early defibrillation.
