Its not just physical activity - the amount of time sitting is also linked to the risk of developing serious illness and so trying to minimise sedentary activities such as TV and computer games can be another huge plus for your long term health.
Can everyone safely exercise? - well in terms of 30 minutes walking probably yes! - but anyone with a health problem should probably get a little bit of advice to make sure they are doing the right type of activity for them. Inevitiably if we increase activity in a population we will get a few injuries - but the majority will improve over a few days with simple principals of protect, rest, ice, compression and elevation. This is known as PRICES principals.
