Joining a Training Team

You don’t need to have any prior training or medical/healthcare experience just your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Joining a Training Team

Our teams of Volunteer Trainers come from all walks of life and are based all over the Highlands, Islands and Glasgow. It is helpful for you to have previously attended our Emergency Life Support training and we’ll teach you the rest.  You don’t need to have any prior training or medical/healthcare experience just your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

The Training

L2BH Emergency Life Support Training aims to strengthen community resilience by sharing practical life saving skills and the confidence to manage life-threatening situation, with ordinary members of the public.  Our training session includes hands-on experience of delivering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation [CPR] and the use of a Defibrillator (AED). L2BH training is based on the latest Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.

The Commitment

First step is to let us know you’re interested.  We’ll aim to put you in touch with an existing training team in your area so that you can observe the training in action.  You will then be asked to complete the Resuscitation Council (UK) Basic Life Support Instructor Course.   This is a four-hour online course and after completion you will be paired up with experienced trainers to get  hands on experience delivering the ELS course.

Resuscitation Council UK’s Basic Life Support Instructor (BLSi) course has been created to empower first aid Instructors and others teaching Basic Life Support (BLS) to deliver effective, confidence-inspiring and inclusive teaching to a high standard.
